A Seattle-Inspired Holiday Menu

Whether you’re looking to add a little local flare to your standard holiday dining line-up, or want to wow guests with a fully Pacific Northwest inspired spread, I’ve compiled a collection of recipes creating an entire meal plan around locally sourced Pacific Northwest ingredients. This Seattle-inspired menu plan will be a meal to remember. Bon Appetit!

Beverages

Serve up a couple scratch beverage recipes or find pre-made versions of these favorites at the store:

  • Espresso Martini: Our list would be incomplete without a recipe featuring Seattle’s favorite beverage - enjoy this Espresso Martini with premium local beans

  • Hot Apple Cider: For a non-alcoholic beverage option, consider brewing up some Hot Apple Cider with Washington’s number one fruit crop

  • Washington Wine: With Woodinville Wine Country right in our back yard, finding some of the best wines around is an easy feat

  • Craft Beer: For the hop enthusiasts in the family, have a few of Seattle’s best brews on hand

Appetizers

A charcuterie board is always a crowd pleaser. Throw together a platter with artisan nuts, crackers, bread slices, fruits, veggies, and these gourmet locally-inspired additions for dipping and spreading:

  • Baked Brie Cheese with Local Honey is a win-win. Guests will love it and the cook will find it incredibly easy and quick to put together

  • Cougar Gold Cheese Dip: Perhaps our state’s most famous cheese, Washington State University’s creamery has a cult following for their famous Cougar Gold

  • Smoked Salmon Spread will add a touch of Seattle’s signature seafood to your appetizer line-up

Main & Side Dishes

These main course dishes will give guests a true taste of the Evergreen state:

  • Consider letting seafood take center stage this holiday season with this incredible oven-roasted salmon recipe

  • Idaho is not the only PNW state that produces potatoes in abundance. Giving these classics a spot on your holiday menu is a must, and this rosemary scalloped potato recipe pairs perfectly with the salmon

  • We can thank Seattle’s famous rain for creating an abundance of delicious mushrooms! Incorporate these delicacies into your menu along with some Washington wine with these white wine sautéed mushrooms. Don’t forget a nice crusty bread for dipping!

  • Add a fresh and healthy crunch to the lineup with this Northern winter salad, packed with Washington cranberries and Oregon hazelnuts

Desserts

Finish your meal on a sweet note with these make-ahead classics (don’t forget a pint of Snoqualmie ice cream to finish them off!):

  • You can’t go wrong with a classic Apple Pie or Apple Crisp

  • Or try a Berry Crisp with summer’s best local fruits - marionberries, blueberries, or blackberries or a mix of all three! (hint: find quality frozen berries from local growers at Remlinger Farms, Whole Foods, or PCC)
